Last Board Meeting Today
Be at the Ramada at 1 p.m. today for the
last EE Board meeting of 2017.
Coffee & Donuts
Treat yourself to a pre-Christmas donut at the monthly
free Coffee & Donuts, Wednesday, December 20, at 8:30 a.m. at
the Ramada.
Thanks to Tom Cooke and Craig
Surprise for sponsoring this event.
Carols and Cookies at the Ramada Thursday
Enjoy a holiday concert with the Continental Middle
School Chorus this Thursday afternoon at the
Ramada. Residents are encouraged to arrive at 1 p.m. to
greet neighbors, grab tush cushions and reserve the best seats.
Eager performers will arrive ready to sing at 1:30. Got
Christmas cookies calling your name from the cookie jar? Bring a
plateful to share with both young and young-at-heart. Hot
cider, coffee and tea will be provided. Thanks to Linda
and Kevin Welsh for arranging this and thanks to the Fabric
Femme Fatales who've agreed to share their reserved
space and time this week. Perhaps the group will knit in time to
the music while they enjoy the concert.
Sorry, Wrong Number
If you have any updates to your listing in the EE Directory,
send an email to Cheri Day (thedays007@aol.com)
before the end of December. Thanks to Cheri for all her hard
work to keep our EE database up to date.
Workouts Postponed 'til Holiday Cookies are Gone.
Participants in afternoon water aerobics will be taking a break
during the holidays. Is it the weather? Maybe too many cookies?
Watch the Monday Morning Memo for news of their resumption.
Where's My Ballot?
Still haven't received your ballot? Contact Secretary
Kris Bean at eekris2017@outlook.com;
be sure to include your name, property address, mailing address
and lot number, if you know it. Don't forget that signature on
the back of the return envelope.
Dues Notice Delivery Delayed?
Perhaps you've been traveling or changed addresses without
updating your EE address. Perhaps your notice was re-routed to
Santa and he doesn't have you on the nice list. Dues are still
due on January 1. If your dues notice still
hasn't arrived, contact Treasurer Joan Moreaux
(520-648-7515 or email to jemore@cox.net.) Paying
today? Make it easy on the treasurer and write your EE address
and Lot # on your check.
Book Group Date Change
The date of the next Book Discussion Group meeting is January
9 not January 2. Bring a list of some of your favorite
books to recommend to others.
Turn Up the Heat
Although some people are still wearing shorts and tee
shirts, winter officially starts this week. Thanks to Charlie
Bonham who filled the propane tanks and tuned up the
heaters, we won't have to worry about being cold at Ramada
events.
Neighborhood Watch Introductory Meetings
Our local Pima County Sheriff's Auxiliary is hosting
informational meetings for Neighborhood Watch volunteers and
potential volunteers. The first of these meetings is scheduled
for Thursday at 2 p.m. at the GVR West Center,
1111 S. GVR Drive. Here in EE these folks gather information
about who occupies a property, when the home would be vacant,
and who to contact in an emergency. Interested in being a block
captain? Contact Mary Beth Wallace at 520-399-0299 or
merrymary7@cox.net.
Support Hot Desert
The Hot Desert Landscaping crew, headed by Rene, is always
friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping our
neighborhood looking good, and they frequently do extra things
above and beyond the call of duty. For the past few years we
have taken a collection for a Christmas gratuity to show our
appreciation for all of their efforts. We'd like to continue the
tradition this year. If you would like to make a contribution,
you can do so at the HOA Board meeting on Monday, December 18.
